How to Remodel Zillow Listing Photos with AI
Paste a Zillow link, get every photo sorted by room, then change floors, walls, cabinets or whole rooms with a click. A step-by-step guide with credit costs.
A listing’s photos sell the home before anyone visits. But buyers often struggle to see past dated cabinets, a dark floor or a wall colour they don’t like. Listing Remodel lets you show what the home could look like, room by room.
What you need
- A Zillow listing link, or your own room photos
- A free BasedFrame account (new accounts get 30 credits)
Step 1: Import the listing
Open Listing Remodel or paste the Zillow link straight into the box on the BasedFrame home screen. BasedFrame reads the listing, pulls in its photos and sorts them by room: living room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and exterior.
Importing a listing costs 5 credits, refunded automatically if no photos come back.
Step 2: Pick what to change
Choose a photo from the room list. Then either:
- Drop a dot on the thing you want to change, like the floor, a countertop or the sofa. Adjust the area slider so the circle just covers it.
- Draw a box around a larger area, like a whole wall.
- Mark nothing to change the entire photo, for example “stage it in a warm Japandi style”.
Step 3: Describe the change
Type what you want in plain words. Short, specific instructions work best.
| You want | Try writing |
|---|---|
| New flooring | “Wide-plank white oak” |
| New wall colour | “Paint it sage green” |
| New countertop | “White marble” |
| Different cabinets | “Make it white oak” |
| Remove something | “Remove it cleanly” |
| Restyle the room | “Stage it in a warm Japandi style” |
Step 4: Generate, compare, apply
Pick a quality level and how many variants you want, then generate. When the results arrive, click a variant to preview it and hold C to compare with the original. Click Apply to keep it. Your next change builds on the applied version.
Tools that pair well
| Tool | What it’s for | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Walls & Paint | Try paint colours, wallpaper and panelling | 1 |
| Flooring Swap | Preview oak, terrazzo, tile or carpet | 1 |
| Virtual Staging | Furnish an empty room | 2 |
| Day to Dusk | Turn the exterior into a twilight shot | 1 |
Tips for realistic results
- One change at a time. Change the floor, apply it, then change the walls. Small steps look more natural than one big prompt.
- Name the material, not the mood. “Herringbone oak” beats “make it nicer”.
- Keep it believable. Show changes a buyer could actually make, and say so in the listing.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need the owner's photos?
No. Paste the public Zillow listing link and BasedFrame imports the listing's photos for you. You can also upload your own photos instead.
Does editing one area change the rest of the photo?
No. Drop a dot or draw a box on the area you want to change. Only that area is repainted, so the rest of the photo stays exactly as shot.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Every applied change is saved as a version, and you can undo the last change or revert a photo to the original at any time.
